The Village’s

Featured Business

There’s been a fair amount of shoveling this week and along with that, the great crews who get out and keep our lights on.

But there’s another whole crew of talented professionals out there who actually keep the power on INSIDE our buildings and restaurants.

Electrifying service with TwinOaksNH Electric

This week I wanted to highlight the great service I recently witnessed from TwinOaks Electric NH. Here’s how we feel about veteran-owned business Twin Oaks:

  • Thank you for showing up on time when you said you would come take a look at the job.
  • Double thank you for showing up the second time, on time, to complete the job.
  • Thank you for brainstorming solutions that may have been outside the scope of what we originally discussed!
  • Thank you for the reasonable fees, we received great value.
  • Guess what?!  We’re referring you to everyone we know!

Upcoming Events & Opportunities

This Week’s Recommended Events

• Feb 13 – Stella Downie, Serial Brick and Mortar Business Builder, brought to you by Dave McLaughlin’s “Hardhat” series

My friend Dave McLaughlin recently launched this thought provoking series that interviews entrepreneurs, artists and other professionals to help growth-mindset people, aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners. Learn more here.

Monday February 13, 2023 12:00pm  12:45pm

Stella Downie builds IRL, consumer facing businesses that don’t appear to have much in common with each other. First she built Boston’s best toy store, then eventually sold it. Then she launched the first indoor trampoline park business on the East Coast, growing to five sites across New England. And now she’s re-launching a retro Berkshires motor lodge on the beautiful Mohawk Trail in Western Massachusetts. Visionary but very very humble, smart and hard-working in the extreme, Stella understands how to operationalize a vision and how to make customers happy. And that’s what we’re going to talk about. Request an invitation to this conversation.

• Nurse Entrepreneurs. New Village Community!

Welcome nurse entrepreneurs! Village recently joined SONSEIL and is now in touch with a large community of nurses who are interested in starting or growing their own businesses.  SONSEIL (Society of Nurses, Scientists, Entrepreneurs and Innovation Leaders), is a large association of nurses from across the country.

If you’re a nurse and you’d like to learn more – either check out the SONSEIL link above or follow along with us at the Village!  I’ve already met some very successful entrepreneurs in this community and we will be featuring one of them soon at a live event in March!  (see below)

• Live Event Series! Translating Nurse Know-How Into Income

Making the Shift from Nurse to Entrepreneur

Featuring keynote speaker Teresa Sanderson, RN

Nursing Continuing Education Consultant, Nurses Feed Their Young Founder, Marketing Consultant & Trainer, Nurse Entrepreneur Preceptor

Join us on March 1st at noon for this informative discussion with Teresa Sanderson, serial entrepreneur and Founder of Nurses Feed Their Young, a movement to improve nursing culture and work environment.  A serial entrepreneur and founder of a successful hospice agency that grew to $3M, today Teresa operates a business focused on helping nurses realize their potential for entrepreneurship!  By working with Teresa, nurses learn they can generate new streams of income by translating their unique skills and experience into continuing education courses and content.

About the Presenter

Teresa Sanderson helps nurse entrepreneurs & hospice liaisons get in front of medical and community referral sources so they can serve more clients. She launched a hospice and grew it to $3M with just a $6K investment using only a nursing continuing education program as a vehicle for marketing.  An RN for more than 30 years, she is a Certified Case Manager and was formerly a Certified Hospice & Palliative Nurse.

Teresa maintains an active Nursing Continuing Education Program accredited by the Kansas State Board Of Nursing and serves as a Nursing Continuing Education Consultant, a Marketing Coach to nurse entrepreneurs and as a Hospice Marketing Consultant to organizations across the US.
